Moves Magazine is based in New York and is known for advocated for women's rights. Along with Yaede, the feature included other "strong, savvy [and] exceptional" women, according to the publisher, Moonah Ellison. Other leaders recognized by the magazine include Catherine Pugh, the mayor of Baltimore and Muriel Bowser, the mayor of Washington, DC.

Yaede herself released a press statement, expressing gratitude for being chosen for the list. The statement said:
“I am truly honored and humbled to have been selected to be featured as part of this list, which seeks to pay tribute to the many female mayors who lead their respective communities.”
According to Ellison, the magazine's publisher, Yaede was chosen because of her drive and dedication and because of the impact she has had on her town since taking on the role of mayor. Yaede has overseen developments such as a new Walmart, and two new hotels on Route 130.
Yaede was initially appointed to the role by the Hamilton Council, then won an election, taking over the rest of the mayor's term. She won reelection in 2015 and began serving her first four-year term.
