Hamilton hospital holds race to raise money

The Annual Strides for Stroke 5K Run and 2K Walk will be held for the 25th year by the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton.

Sean’s Landscaping and Care One Management are sponsoring the event and the proceeds will go towards the stroke program at the hospital. The Primary Stroke Center at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton is open 24 hours a day and offers a full service program featuring care of acute stroke, rehabilitation, education and support. The goal of the hospital this year is to raise $4,550 from the event.

Those who register will receive a Strides for Stroke tee shirt, for which the hospital may have hired a Print company to do the Logo Design.

The course for the 5K Run is USATF certified and passes through roads that are free of traffic and through Veteran’s Park.

Awards will be given for first-, second- and third-place runners overall for both male and female and for various age groups, also male and female. After the event, there will be food and drink and a DJ.

The Run and Walk will be held on Saturday May 14. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton with the 2K Walk beginning at 9:00 a.m. and the 5K Run beginning at 9:30 a.m.
