The Playful City USA program has named Hamilton as one of 241 towns and cities across the country deemed to be a ‘playful city’ for 2015.
The Humana Foundation, along with KaBOOM!, a non-profit whose goal is to bring active and balanced play into the lives of all kids every day across the county, are the sponsors of this program. This designation honors the efforts of those communities that meet these goals.
Hamilton has 64 parks and its top priority is to ensure that residents have places where they can play or take part in activities so they remain active. Of note, Veterans Park in Hamilton is the largest playground facility in the state.
According to Kelly Yaede, Mayor of Hamilton, with 20,904 children aged 19 and under and 69 per cent of the township’s total population being families, Hamilton strives to keep itself family friendly and there are numerous parks and recreational activities available to the community.
For the summer, there are 12 summer camps being offered for children ages 5 to 14 and the town may be using local brochure printing companies to Print Brochures with more information about these camps and how to sign up.
