Hamilton family workshop offers photo skills boost

Families can learn more about taking pictures by participating in a program in February, offered at Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton.

The Family Photography Workshop is an activity where guests are taught fundamental photography concepts while participating in an on-site scavenger hunt. During the lesson, families will learn about how to use a smartphone to take pictures and will cover topics such as balance, unity, color, and shape. The program is intended for children between the ages of five and twelve. The scavenger hunt will be self-guided.

Beverly and Michael Miller will be the instructors for the course. The two are passionate photographers who offer various classes through their business Visions Photographic Workshops. Beverly is the executive director, while Michael works as the director of operations. Other courses offered by the duo include private and small-group photography excursions and personalized lessons. Businesses with classes like this can advertise their programs to others using poster printing.

The photography workshop will be held on February 13. The price will cost $10 for members of Grounds for Sculpture and $20 for non-members. Kids can attend the event for $5. The lesson will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Part of the program will be held online, and another portion of the event will take place at Grounds for Sculpture.
