Hamilton boat fest to support cancer organization

Cancer Support Community New Jersey (CSCNJ) will hold a dragon boat festival in Hamilton to raise funds for its services.

The CSCNJ Dragon Boat Festival is an event where people can show their support for those affected by cancer by participating in or spectating a community boat race. No experience is necessary for partaking in the boat race, and participation is open to people who are 12 or older. The organizers will provide attendees with the boats, paddles, and life Vests needed for the friendly competition. The fees for the event will differ depending on the team’s type.

The CSCNJ at Gilda’s Club is an organization that offers educational and social support to those impacted by cancer through informative workshops and group activities. A few of the events held by the group include the Ask the Doctor Lecture Series, potluck suppers, and movie nights. Members of the organization may attend support groups and networking groups. Some of the workshops offered by the club include yoga, art lessons, cooking classes, and drumming sessions.

The dragon boat fest will be on July 9. The cost for community teams to attend the event is $1,700, and the price of a corporate team to enter the race is $2,400. Tents for each competing group can be rented for $325. Charitable groups that hold unique fundraisers like this can educate spectators about their causes by using brochure printing to make informative Booklets.
