Evening of old-time music and stories comes to Hamilton Library

The second in the monthly series of music and nostalgia, presented by Jack Pyrah and Tom Glover at the Hamilton Township Public Library, will be a ‘Nostalgia Night’.

The program will include a nostalgic story in which Tom will describe the Christmas seasons he remembers as a boy growing up in Hamilton, and the many shopping trips made to downtown Trenton. The two will also sing a selection of Christmas carols.

Glover and Pyrah sing songs that are ones made popular by such vocalists as Glenn Miller, Rosemary Clooney, and Patti Page. Sometimes, they mix into their music the songs of Barry Manilow, Neil Diamond and Billy Joel—contemporary vocalists who have songs with lyrics that can be understood.

Glover was born and raised in Hamilton and is now the local archivist and historian at the Hamilton Township Public Library. He collaborates with the Historical Society of the township to bring interesting programs relating to Mercer County, emphasizing Hamilton, Trenton, and the surrounding communities.

In addition to word of mouth, Glover and the library may be turning to a local printing company to nostalgic Holiday Cards that can be sent to those in Mercer County and its communities promoting this special evening of music.

‘Nostalgia Night’ will be December 21 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
