Charitable event to combine wrestling and basketball

The Sawmill YMCA Day Camp and Recreation Center in Hamilton will be hosting an event in August to benefit the Miracle League of Mercer County.

BasketBrawl is a show where guests can see independent wrestlers face off in a full-court basketball showdown. All proceeds raised during the game will go towards the Miracle League of Mercer County. The theme for the event will be Heels vs. Faces, and the winners of the game will get ultimate bragging rights. Shane Fair, a professional wrestling ring announcer, will serve as the host for the evening. Organizers for special fundraisers like this can market the show to people using flyer printing.

The Miracle League of Mercer County is a baseball venue where anyone can play regardless of physical or cognitive limitations. The facility is designed to allow players with disabilities to move around the bases and field freely. Players in the league get to experience being part of a team and develop positive, supportive relationships. The organization currently has over 120 active participants and more than 300 volunteers. It operates throughout the year and even offers seasonal group instruction.

The charitable event will occur on Sunday, August 1 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. General admission to the game will cost people $20, and VIP tickets can be purchased for $40. Sales for BasketBrawl will open to the public on June 1.
