This winter, kids in Charlotte are in luck, because Discovery Place Winter Camps will allow them to explore and learn at all-day camps created to excite and inspire young minds.
Each day of camp has a theme, with the likes of ‘Paleontologists’, ‘Astronaut Academy’, ‘Young Einstein’, and ‘Destination Earth’ included. The daily agenda includes hands-on activities and problem solving.
Parents can register their children for one day or the full program. There is a camp designed for those in kindergarten through first grade and another one for kids in second to third grade.
To inform parents and children about the camps, the museum may have used a poster printing service to make Signs to hang around the establishment.
Each camp session costs $45 for Discovery Place members and $55 for nonmembers. Parents should send their child with a bag lunch and snacks. A supervised lunch time will be offered at no extra charge from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm. During the day, two snack times will be accommodated.
The camps take place on December 22, 23, 26, 29, 30, 31, and also January 1 and 2. The sessions occur from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Space is limited and registration can be completed on the Discovery Place website or by calling 704-372-6261, extension 300. Discovery Place can be found on 301 North Tryon Street.
