African-American book festival celebrates culture in Charlotte

The Charlotte community has announced an upcoming book festival focused on sharing the works of African-American authors this summer, and area residents are invited to attend.

The Charlotte African-American Book Festival will be returning to the Queen City for its fourth year in June, giving book collectors and readers a setting where they can discover new stories and celebrate the contributions of African-American authors over the years. Organizers started the festival to support both established and up-and-coming authors, publishers, and book stores a new platform to reach a large audience.

The primary goal of the festival is to educate, impact, and entertain Charlotte residents by shining a light on the stories held within the festival’s Books. Several renowned Black authors are expected to attend, making meet-and-greet opportunities a realistic possibility. Banner printing can be used to promote festivals like this to passersby to bring more visitors in the doors through impressions.

Attendees will get to check out different author exhibits, listen to discussions, participate in book signings, and find Books that are suitable for readers of all ages. Some of the top genres will include non-fiction, fiction, poetry, memoirs, and self-help Books.

The Second Ward High School Gymnasium in Charlotte is set to host the festival on Saturday, June 27th, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission is free and visitors can register in advance online.
