Charlotte locals can commemorate Memorial Day with a race and a celebration.
The U.S. National Whitewater Center is hosting a Memorial Day Trail Race. Participants can choose between a five-mile and an eight-mile contest.
After the event, participants can stay for the Memorial Day celebration that will have live entertainment and refreshments. For $30, individuals can take part in a Corn Hole tournament. For $45, guests can be part of a VIP party where they will be treated to a catered meal, indoor restrooms, and other perks. At night, there will be fireworks.
There will also be an awards ceremony where the top three male and female finishers in each age group will be recognized. Postcard printing is one way to promote a big event such as this one. Direct mailers can be sent out to those in the Charlotte community.
Registration costs $30 or $37 on race day. Those who register prior to May 17 will be guaranteed a T-shirt. Packets can be picked up on May 22 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at NoDa Brewing Company, located on 2229 North Davidson Street.
Both races kick off on May 24 at 9:00 am. Race day registration starts at 7:30 am while the awards ceremonies will begin at 10:15 am. The U.S. National Whitewater Center is located on 5000 Whitewater Center Parkway.
