Museum to explore the codes of genetics
Budding scientists can learn more about DNA during a hands-on workshop taking place in a couple of weeks.
The Discovery Science Center is hosting a class at which participants can extract DNA from a strawberry, and even from their own bodies.
Supplies for the class cost $12 which includes an extraction kit. In addition, individuals must purchase admission to the museum. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $12 for kids.
This event is part of the museum’s series ‘Build it, Make it, Take it’, where individuals take part in a science-based activity and then take the contents home. Some of the other sessions include ‘Sewing with Circuits’ and ‘Programmable Drawing Robots’.
The Discovery Science Center provides visitors with a wealth of information, including exhibits, workshops, and special events.
Only 18 kits are available for this event, so interested individuals should reserve their spot as soon as possible. This can be done by going to the museum’s website or by calling 704-372-6261, extension 300.
To promote this event, a poster printing service in Charlotte was probably utilized to design signs to place around the science center. By using eye-catching photos and bold fonts, these posters might encourage museum visitors to find out more about the workshop.
Participants can start the learning process on January 17 from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm. The Discovery Science Center can be found on 301 North Tryon Street.
