An event has been planned for Charlotte that will bring together fans of Japanese culture from all over the area.
Hoshicon will celebrate Japanese animation, pop culture, and video games. There will be opportunities for shopping, as well as a cosplay contest, a games room, celebrity panels and other activities. The event, which takes place over three days, will also see a variety of contests, where those who enter can win an assortment of prizes, and there will also be food available for purchase.
A marketplace of more than 10,000 square feet will be set up where people will be selling and displaying their art or other items related to the Hoshicon theme.
An attendance cap for the event has been set at 4,500 for the entire weekend, and it is estimated that there will not be enough tickets for everyone who wishes to go. It is therefore recommended that those who plan on taking part purchase their tickets well ahead of time.
Online registration is available, and ticket prices range between $25 for children 12 and under to $35 for those 13 and up. Children up to the age of five will be admitted free of charge. A company that provides printing services can produce printed tickets and other items for events such as this.
Hoshicon will take place at the Westin Charlotte Hotel from July 15 to 16. More details can be found on its website.
