Parents of children who are living with a disability may want to attend a workshop that will address the issue of bullying.
The Council for Children's Rights has organized a session for Charlotte parents, educators, and caregivers that will explore how bullying can impact a child, and how to prevent it. Since disabled students are often at a greater risk of experiencing bullying than their peers, this will be included in the discussion.
During the presentation, the participants will learn ways they can be proactive when it comes to supporting their child, working with the schools to recognize and address bullying when it happens. The rights of children and the obligations of schools and educators is on the agenda as well, and there will also be tips shared for protecting all students. The event is free to attend, but RSVPs are strongly encouraged.
Attending a continuing education session gives both educators and parents alike an opportunity to learn some of the newest ideas when it comes to kids. Copies of handouts and other materials may help the participants to learn as much as they can, and Stationery printers will be happy to help provide them.
The Council for Children's Rights has made plans to offer this workshop on January 5. It will be held at 601 East 5th Street starting at 10:30 am.
