When a child is diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, it can be a confusing time for their parents and the whole family as well, but an upcoming Charlotte event can make it a whole lot easier.
The workshop is geared towards parents, caregivers and also grandparents of a child who is eight years of age or younger and has recently been diagnosed as having an ASD. It will provide both information and support and can help them to navigate the process of setting up programming and other help for their son or daughter.
Participation in the session is being offered free of charge, and those who attend will learn about how autism can affect an individual. They will also walk away armed with information about the options for support that they can access and also how they can locate community resources that can often prove to be helpful.
The workshop is intended for families where the child is eight or under, but assistance is also available where the boy or girl is older than this. The Autism Society of North Carolina offers free individual appointments for those in this situation. A brochure printing company can play a role by supplying Presentation Folders filled with informational materials that can be helpful to parents who have a child with autism.
