Charlotte kids invited to learn art of candle making

Kids who like hands-on fun may enjoy learning how to make their own candles, and a mini camp that will be held at a Charlotte venue will offer them a chance to do this.

Create in US Art Studio has organized a mini day camp session that will introduce kids from the ages eight and up to learn candle making techniques. The instructor for the activity will be Old Oak Market's Rachel Monrad.

Kids who participate in the day will each make both a sand candle and a mug candle, and they will also choose the scene they will use from those provided. A brief discussion of business planning will help to stoke their entrepreneurial spirit, and there will be activities for the learners while they wait for their projects to become solid, after which they will be ready to take home.

Everyone who register for the camp is asked to bring along a sack lunch and a drink, and old clothes are highly recommended. A sibling discount is available. T-Shirts and other Corporate Gifts for an activity will be available for ordering at a local printer.

This introduction to the art and science of making scented candles will be on offer on July 18. It will begin at 10:00 am, and tickets to be part of the fun start at $54.
