Charlotte initiative to expand its living canopy
Planting a tree is said to make an investment in the future, and this is the inspiration behind a special event coming to Charlotte next month.
TreesCharlotte recently announced that it will be celebrating the end of its season by hosting a tree adoption blitz, which will help to expand the city’s living canopy. There will be options ranging from smaller shrubs and bushes to full-size trees, and each household in the city is eligible for up to two new plants to take home.
Anyone who would like to take advantage of the offer will need to register ahead of time, and a list of available species will be supplied. Those who are interested are strongly advised to make sure their choice is suitable for conditions in their yard. A planting demonstration will be provided at each pickup, and the specimens will each be planted in a seven-gallon tub.
When offering the public a planting opportunity, relevant information can help to ensure a horticulture giveaway will be a success. A flyer printing company can be tasked with preparing this sort of material.
The TreesCharlotte 2023 tree adoption blitz will be held on Saturday, March 18. Pickup times may be booked from 9:00 am until 11:30 am, and the area for this will be set up at 701 Tuckaseegee Road.
