Charlotte goes wild for race
Charlotte locals can enjoy the outdoors and get a little exercise at the Wild Vine 5K and Half Marathon Trail Race.
After the race, there will be refreshments and a raffle. Then, attendees can stay for the ‘Uncorked’ wine festival, where there will be live music and wine samples. Sample cards cost $10 and include four two-ounce samples.
Until September 23, registration costs $30 for the 5K and $50 for the half marathon. On race day, the 5K costs $36 and the half marathon costs $60. For an additional $10, participants can get an ‘Uncorked’ sample card.
Those who register by September 20 will get a T-shirt. Half marathon finishers will be given a medal, and there will also be awards for the top finishers.
Pre-event packet pickup will take place on September 25 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Sun and Ski store in Ballantyne. A stationery printing service was probably contacted to create the packets.
The half marathon kicks off on September 26 at 9:30 am, followed by the 5K at 11:00 am. The wine festival will take place from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
