Charlotte employment to bubble with new contact center

A new call center has opened its doors in northeast Charlotte, and it promises to provide employment to many people throughout the community.

The new Coca-Cola Bottling Consolidated Call Center recently began operations at 5020 west W.T. Harris Blvd. According to company representatives, it will employ as many as 300 people, which is an increase of 117 people over the 183 who worked at its former site in SouthPark.

The new facility covers a space of 71,280 square feet, and the price tag for its construction came in at $8m. It is estimated that close to 2.2 calls, a combination of both incoming and outgoing, will go through the center each year.

The staff will provide customer service to businesses, such as retailers, who stock or serve Coke products. A graphic design company can create a variety of different Signs and other decorations that can be placed throughout the new building, making it a bright and cheery place to work.

In order to meet the needs of the staff, the break room will be equipped with refreshment dispensers that can be used free of charge, and there will also be a pool table, televisions, and a canteen. The desks can be converted into standing workstations for those who prefer to work upright. Some of these workspaces are currently empty, waiting to be filled as the number of employees grows.
