This month, the Charlotte Nature Museum is hosting several Earth Day-inspired events.
First, for Wild Wednesdays, kids can bring in some non-recyclable items and create a craft out of the materials.
Then, the center will host an ‘Earth Day Play Date’ where there will be an opportunity to play in the mud at the museum’s ‘Fort Wild’. Attendees can see demonstrations on gardening with kids and making backyard wildlife habitats. The event will feature a story time, during which author Ellen Fischer will read and sign her book, 'If an Armadillo Went to a Restaurant'. All activities are included with museum admission.
The Earth Day Event will also have an electronics recycling drive. Most recycling is free, but televisions and CRT monitors are extra.
Finally, during a special storytime in the Dragonfly Theater, Dr. Seuss fans can enjoy a reading of ‘The Lorax’ and learn about the environment.
A poster printing service is useful for promoting upcoming events. Posters can be placed near the museum’s entrance for visitors to see.
Wild Wednesdays: Non Recyclable Art will kick off on April 15 at 12:30 pm. The Earth Day Play Date will be held on April 18 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, and finally 'The Lorax' story time will take place on April 19 at 12:30 pm.
