This month, Charlotte residents will have the chance to attend ‘The Strands of Pearls’ luncheon, which aims to lift up local women and celebrate their art.
During the event, guests will have the opportunity to view a photography display that champions local people who have come through domestic violence issues. Through this artistic expression, the organization hopes to encourage healing for victims and make a difference in the community.
The event costs $40 per person or $280 per table. Its proceeds will aid Creative Healing Arts Programs. The nonprofit organization hopes the creative process at the workshops will be a therapeutic activity for those who have experienced domestic violence. In order to help with the costs of the art program, the establishment has a scholarship application available online.
Anyone interested in helping the organization can fill out the volunteer form on the Pearls Charlotte website. Donating time, art materials, or money are all ways to help. The organization also encourages individuals to put up a ‘volunteer recruitment poster’ in a public spot to help raise awareness about Pearls. A poster printing service can help to create a memorable sign for display at events like this.
The Strands of Pearls Luncheon will take place on August 28th from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at the Foundation for the Carolinas, located at 220 North Tryon Street. For more information, call (704) 817-8793.
