Charlotte book festival celebrates African American works

A book festival is planning a visit to the Queen City in the coming weeks, with the goal of spreading awareness of some top works from African American writers.

The 3rd Annual Charlotte African American Book Festival is coming to town, and area residents are encouraged to attend to celebrate and learn more about African American contributions to literature, literacy, and culture. The event will provide a setting for networking, workshops, entertainment, and keynote speakers to provide new perspectives and share insightful stories.

Guests can expect to hear from best-selling and award-winning authors by attending the festival. There will also be opportunities for meet-and-greets and book signings. The festival will be family friendly, offering a variety of activities for children to enjoy.

Food and drinks will be available throughout the event. Business cards are an excellent way for authors and vendors to build awareness and make a lasting impression at such festivals.

In addition to the speakers and activities, attendees will have the opportunity to win door prizes and have access to significant discounts on book purchases. Registration is still open at the time of writing for local authors and vendors who wish to attend.

The festival is set for Saturday, June 21 at the Second Ward High School Gymnasium in Charlotte. The doors open at 11:00 AM. Registration is free and available online.
