Charlotte athletes to hit the trail
Runners in Charlotte can participate in a race for a good cause.
The Carolinas Care Partnership 5K will take participants on a scenic course along the Reedy Creek Park trails and around ponds.
After the race, there will be vendors and prizes. Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers along with the top three in each age group.
Registration costs $30 for the 5K and $25 for kids under 12. On race day, registration costs go up $5. Registration can be completed online up until race day. Mail-in registration ends on June 19.
Volunteers are still needed to help with the event. In addition, sponsorship opportunities are available, starting at $250. Printing companies often include sponsors’ logos on promotional materials.
Proceeds from the event will go to help the Carolinas Care Partnership, an organization that provides assistance to people who have or are at-risk for HIV.
Packets will be available on June 18 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm and June 19 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Packets pick-up will take place at Omega Sports, located on 8036 Providence Road.
The 5K will kick off on June 20 at 9:00 am. Event day registration takes place from 8:00 am until 8:45 am.
