This year, a special guest from the past will be in Charlotte on President’s Day, and the public is welcome to come out and hear his take on the nation’s history.
The Sons of the American Revolution’s Mecklenburg chapter has planned a community dinner, and to mark the occasion, a caricature of former president Thomas Jefferson will be in attendance, brought to life by Bill Barker, who is a historical actor. His portrayal of Jefferson was part of the group’s first ever President’s Day gathering.
The organizers noted that the dinner is suitable for families and individuals alike, and went on say that it may be especially interesting to anyone who wants to know more about the country’s history. The ticket prices for the occasion start at $15 for children and $29 for adults, and anyone who purchases one is asked to bring it with them when they come to the function. Full-table sales are also on offer for large groups that would like to participate. Flyers that let the community know when a special event like this will be taking place can be provided to the organizers by a local printer.
February 15 has been chosen as the date for this historically themed occasion. The Hilton Charlotte Executive Park will serve as its venue, and more information can be obtained by contacting jay@mecklenburgsar.org.
