Runners go back in time at race

Charlotte locals can take part in an 80s themed race.

The ‘Run for your Life Prediction 5K’ features a loop course and invites individuals to predict their 5K finish time. Participants are encouraged to wear their best 80s attire. In addition, 80s music will be played. Individuals can even request certain family friendly songs from the decade.

Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers along with those who have the most accurate prediction time in every age group.

Registration costs $25 for the 5K or $20 for kids in kindergarten through 12th grade. Registration can be completed online, until 11:59 pm on May 28, or through the mail, if postmarked by May 25. Registration includes a T-shirt. Those who register before May 15 will have a choice between shirts.

Individuals can register in person at the Run for Your Life locations in Midtown, Piper Glen, and University. Packet pickup will take place on May 28 and May 29 throughout the day at these same Run for Life locations. It is likely that Stationery printers have been busy creating race packets for the event.

Race day packet and chip pick up will take place on May 30 at 6:45 am. The race will begin at 8:00 am and an awards ceremony will follow at 9:00 am. The event location is on 901 South Kings Drive.
