Charlotte’s murals add beauty and interest to the city, and while they may be a common sight, not everyone knows the stories behind them. An upcoming event may change that, with runCLT runner Tim Reitz guiding the activity.
Reitz will lead the group of restaurants on a special run that will pass by more than 20 different mural destinations. The participants can enjoy the beauty and artistic skill in each piece, and all levels of running ability are welcome.
While the runners will be welcome to view each mural, they will also be able to learn more about them and the story behind their creation. At the end of the route, the participants will be treated to some light refreshments as well as a chance to meet some of the artists behind the works of art.
The run is scheduled to both begin and end at the lululemon located in Atherton Mill, and the attendees will be invited to do some private shopping in the store. A banner to welcome the runners back from their outing can be prepared for an occasion like this by a banner printing company.
This fast-paced exploration of some of Charlotte’s outdoor works of urban art has been planned for the morning of April 5. Registration is free, and there will be frequent stops along the route.
