Mardi Gras celebration and gumbo arrive in Charlotte
A Mardi Gras celebration and culinary experience is in the works for the Queen City next month, with the event open to Louisiana State University graduates.
The 2025 LSU Carolinas Mardi Gras and Gumbo Cook-Off are preparing to welcome guests to try the best gumbo in the area while celebrating Louisiana’s culture. The cook-off is open for registration, and interested parties with a savory gumbo recipe are encouraged to enroll in the competition.
Gumbo cookers are asked to arrive at noon to set up and begin cooking their recipes. Tasters and other attendees will be welcome to check in at 1:00 PM and will receive wristbands and voting tokens to select their favorite gumbo recipes. Promotional products are an excellent way for participating sponsors at the event to build relationships with their target audience members.
A raffle will also be held to provide attendees with an opportunity to win prizes and money at the celebration. The voting will close at 3:30 PM, and the winners will be announced at 4:00 PM. Guests can pair their favorite gumbo samples with beers from a local brewery to enjoy a taste of New Orleans.
The celebration will be held by Hi-Wire Brewing Charlotte on Saturday, February 8, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Tickets are limited and cost $30 per person online.
