Football fans to unite at 5K

College football fans can welcome the 2014 Belk Bowl with a running event.

The Belk Bowl 5K gives participants the chance to run or walk through Uptown Charlotte.

After the race, there will be a party with free refreshments, music, and giveaways. There will also be awards for the top female, male, and wheelchair finishers, along with medals for the top three male and female runners in each age bracket.

The race is designed to help kick off the Belk Bowl, which is a college championship game that takes place each year in Charlotte at the Bank of America Stadium. Along with the 5K, other fan events include a pep rally, fanfest, breakfast, and pre-game party.

To promote large events, flyer printing services are often utilized. Handouts with all of the pre-game activities could be passed out in high-traffic areas in and around the community.

Registration costs $20 and goes up to $25 on race day. Packets can be picked up on December 26 and 27 from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm at the Run for Your Life store on 2422 Park Road.

The festivities start on December 28 at the Wells Fargo Atrium, located on 301 South Tryon Street. Race day registration and check-in begins at 1:00 pm and the 5k starts at 2:00 pm. The Belk Bowl begins on December 30.
