Charlotte residents who love Christmas lights and casual races are in luck this November. The Eggnog Jog is an untimed 5K run. Lights are featured along the course, including a tunnel of Christmas illuminations.
A family-friendly event, strollers are welcome and children under seven are free of charge with a paid adult. Participants are encouraged to dress up in festive attire, and costumes with lights are especially welcomed. After the race, runners will be treated to a concert from Charity Case.
The Eggnog Jog has partnered with Speedway Children’s Charities, a non-profit organization. Some of the proceeds from the run will benefit children in need. Furthermore, all of the money from the concert will benefit Grin Kids - a charity that sends terminally ill and chronically disabled children, along with their families, on a trip to Disney World.
This event is a great opportunity for businesses to advertise. Companies could contact local printing companies in Charlotte to provide a banner or poster for the event. Flyers could also be distributed at the post-run concert.
Up until November 15, individuals can register for $50. From November 15 to November 22, the cost will go up to $60. Teams of four or more will receive a $5 discount. The registration fee includes a T-shirt and entry into the concert, and those who want to watch can purchase a spectator pass for $5.
The Eggnog Jog takes place at Charlotte Motor Speedway at 5555 Concord Parkway South in Concord, NC 28027. The festivities begin on Friday, November 22 at 7:30 pm.
