Mental illness touches many people’s lives, and this is why a walk to raise awareness about mental health has been planned for Charlotte.
Eustress has organized an event that will seek to eliminate some of the stigma that surrounds illnesses of the mind. The goal is to try and get people talking so that those who are living with these conditions will not be afraid to seek help, or fear that they will be seen in a negative light for doing so.
The day will start off with registration and a mental health fair where vendors and resource providers working in the field will have displays set up and be on hand to answer questions. There will also be a free yoga session so those who plan on taking part are reminded to bring along their towel and mat.
The walk itself is set to begin at 10:30 am, and all are welcome to come out and show their support for those living with mental illness. Banners and other printed materials for an event like this can be produced by a printer.
According to the organizers, funds raised through the activities will be used to help it in its goal of eliminating the stigma around diseases that affect the mind. The walk will take place on May 20th in Charlotte’s Park Road Park. Further information, and an opportunity to register as a volunteer, participant or sponsor, can be found on the Eustress website.
