Lots of not-for-profits host fundraising runs, and one planned for Charlotte will be kicking off the holiday season in a unique way.
The Around the Crown 10k will be celebrating its first year, and the whole city is invited to join the fun. Along with the physical activity, there will be lots to see, do, and taste and everyone is welcome, whether they plan on running, jogging, walking or rolling their way along in a wheelchair or other assistive device.
The event, which will benefit Partners for Parks, will offer a route that travels through areas that offer exciting views of the city, and there will be water stations set up along the way. The participants will be offered a unique opportunity to hit the pavement on the major inner loop of I-277, and when they reach the finish line, there will be a post-race festival with food, entertainment, and lots of fun activities.
Each person who registers for the Around the Crown run will receive a race packet filled with a performance tee featuring a special graphic design, as well as a race bib and Promotional Products supplied by participating vendors. These can be picked up before the event or before the runners, walkers, or rollers leave for home.
The inaugural Around the Crown 10k has been rescheduled to December 6, having originally been planned for May. The pre-run expo will kick off at 11:00 am.
