Residents in Charlotte can join in a nationwide event that encourages people to dance for their well-being.
To celebrate 'National Dance Day', Blumenthal Performing Arts will be hosting a free event for all ages and dancing levels. Participants will have a chance to learn choreographed dance routines and be healthy.
Blumenthal Performing Arts Center provides a space for high-caliber artistic performances. The establishment houses the Belk Theater, Booth Playhouse, and the Stage Door Theater. The organization visits schools and helps give the community access to the arts. Using brochure printers, organizers of events like this can create a leaflet, including a schedule of events and contact information.
In 2010, ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ executive producer Nigel Lythgoe helped mastermind National Dance Day. The NDD founders hoped the event would promote dancing as a fun way to exercise and engage in an active lifestyle. Now, on the final Saturday in July, the event is celebrated across the country. Individuals without an event nearby are encouraged to try to dance or organize a dance-related activity in their community.
It all takes place on July 26 at the Wells Fargo Plaza located at 301 South Tryon Street. If there is inclement weather, the event will be held inside the Wells Fargo Atrium. The fun starts at 1:00 pm.
