Charlotte gardens welcome return of spring celebration

A popular Charlotte springtime activity will once again be taking place in the city, and is expected to be a sell-out.

Wing Haven Gardens and Bird Sanctuary will be greeting the arrival of the warmer weather by hosting its annual Tea Time in the Garden. All ages can participate, and it will offer an atmosphere reminiscent of an English-style high tea.

The guests at the function will be served tea, and pink lemonade will also be poured for anyone who would prefer it. The kids in the crowd can give the maypole a try, and an assortment of light bites will be served to accompany the drinks. Everyone will have an opportunity to learn more about the site and those who work to keep it in top shape.

To help make this function a success, the organizers are counting on the generosity of the city's corporate community. Sponsorships for the celebration start at $200, and these come with perks such as two tickets for the function. Anyone who would like to make a donation in memory of someone special to them is encouraged to do so. A banner printing company will be able to prepare signage to use on benches and other garden items purchased using funds donated by the public or a business.

This year's Wing Haven Tea Time in the Garden will take place on May 15 at 248 Ridgewood Avenue. Two different seatings have been planned and tickets start at $35.
