Charlotte garden to host senior birding walk

Birdwatching offers a variety of benefits to Charlotte’s senior set, and a local organization will be hosting one of these outings this December.

Novice and experienced birders alike may enjoy the Senior Bird Walk, which is intended for those who are age 65 and up. It will give them an opportunity to develop their birdwatching skills while meeting others who share their interest, and will be suitable for those who may have mobility issues.

The excursion, which will be up to 90 minutes long, will stroll through the grounds of Wing Haven Garden and Bird Sanctuary. There are benches on offer so that anyone who needs to sit for a few minutes will be able to do so, and many of the paths can be navigated by those who need a wheelchair, rollator or other mobility device. Binoculars are highly recommended.

An outing like this offers opportunities for both birdwatching and socializing, and it also helps seniors to keep active. A flyer printing company will have an assortment of ways of spreading the word about local activities, and these publications can be sent through the mail, tucked into Shopping Bags, and distributed in other ways.

The Senior Bird Walk will be visiting some of Charlotte’s avian residents on December 13. Everyone who plans on taking part is asked to be on site by 9:00 am.
