Charlotte fashion event to take a bite out of bullying

Bullying in school can be an unfortunate fact of life for some local children and young people, and an event that has been planned for Charlotte is seeking to make a difference.

Rita Miles/Charlotte Sen will be hosting the No Bullying Here Fashion Event, which will take to the stage at Embassy Suites by Hilton Charlotte Uptown. Models will be showcasing the latest in fashion trends, while helping to get the message out about bullying. Attendees will also have an opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for an assortment of luxury items.

The show and prize drawings will also act as a fundraiser for a film project that will discuss some of the underlying causes of this issue, and according to the organizers, their goal is to help schools add an anti-bullying component to their curriculums. They noted that this will make schools safer learning environments for everyone. Brochures that give more details about the issue can be prepared for distribution during a fundraising function such as this.

The No Bullying Here Fashion Event will be held on May 20 in the Embassy Suites Uptown Charlotte, which is located at 401 East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from 11:30 am until 2:00 pm. Anyone who would like to find out more about the event or its organizers has been asked to visit the Charlotte Seen website.
