Charlotte cooks up a storm

Budding chefs in North Carolina will have the chance to learn more about whipping up barbecued fare and Thai food.

This summer, Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen is hosting a wide array of classes, all of which will use sustainable and local ingredients.

Individuals can try out a barbecue sides class that will teach how to make four different sides, including a dessert. The class is geared towards beginner plus and intermediate levels.

There will also be an ‘Outdoor Grilling Class’ where participants will cook an entire meal with meat, vegetables, and dessert all on an outdoor grill. This class is for beginner plus, intermediate, and intermediate plus levels.

The ‘Try Thai’ classes will teach students how to make steamed dumplings, tofu and vegetable green curry, a fish and shrimp stir fry, and coconut lemongrass custard. These classes are for beginner plus, intermediate, and intermediate plus levels.

Registration costs $60 for the barbecue sides class and $65 for each of the Thai classes along with the outdoor grilling course. No doubt the company used a business card printing service to create cards to have on hand at the events.

The BBQ sides class takes place on June 25th while the Outdoor Grilling class will take place on June 29. The Thai classes will be held on July 9 and 10.

All the classes will take place from 6:30 pm until 9:30 pm. Chef Alyssa's Kitchen is located inside Atherton Market on 2104 South Boulevard.
