Vultures are an important part of nature’s clean-up crew, and these intelligent but often misunderstood birds will be the stars of a Charlotte area day in early September.
The Carolina Raptor Center has invited one and also to help make its International Vulture Awareness Day its best one yet. It will be appropriate for all ages, and the organizers hope everyone will walk away with a greater appreciation and affection for these feathered friends.
The festivities, which will run for four hours, will offer an assortment of programming, and there will be games and other activities in the mix. These will be included with general admission to the Raptor Center, and while they visit, the public will have a chance to learn about the facility's efforts to combat avian influenza in vultures, including endangered California condors.
A themed event may provide a not-for-profit organization or facility a way to raise awareness of its work, and a printer can help. They will be happy to supply everything from banner printing to attention grabbing branding, including a Logo Design.
Vultures will be getting their day in the sun during this festival planned in their honor on September 2, and the public is welcome to arrive starting at 10:00 am. Admission starts at $16, and there are discounted passes for kids, seniors, military members and teachers.
