Athletes get on their marks for two races

Runners in Charlotte have a chance to take part in two different races.

The Charlotte 10-mile and 4-mile run will begin in Ballantyne later this month, and then make its way to a scenic paved trail. After the race, there will be an expo with prizes and entertainment, and the Big View Restaurant and Bar will provide a hot breakfast. No doubt this event has been widely publicized with the help of a flyer printing service.

Finisher medals will be awarded to 10-milers. In addition, awards will be given to the top three women and men overall, as well as in each age group.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training will be raising money and participating in the race. Individuals can donate to this cause on the event’s official website.

Registration costs $35 for the 4-mile and $45 for the 10-mile. On race day, the price goes up $5. T-Shirts will be given to those who register by February 15. Additionally, 10-mile participants will get a tech hoodie.

Participants should be ready to run on February 21. Race day registration takes place from 6:00 am until 7:00 am. The 4-mile begins at 7:30 am with the 10-mile following at 7:45 am. Awards will start at 9:30 am.

Event day packet collection will take place at Earth Fare located on 12235 North Community House Road. Both races will begin on Johnston Road.
