Area test garden to open its gates to the public

Before plants go to market, many nurseries and seed producers will give them a trial run in their test garden, and residents of Charlotte have been invited to visit one that can be found in their test area.

Metrolina Greenhouses will be opening its trial garden to the public, and during their visit, they can learn more about the process involved in developing different plant cultivars. There is no admission charge, but those who plan on being a part of the day are reminded to bring along sun protection, plenty of water, and comfortable walking shoes.

The gardens, which are three acres in size, contain more than 2,500 varieties from 182 genera of plants. If they wish, guests can even be a part of the process of selecting the best plants or they can just sit back and enjoy the beauty all around them. All ages are welcome, and it can be an opportunity for children to begin a lifelong interest in botany and gardening.

Using suitable signage for an event like this can help those who attend learn about the different plants that are being grown. A printing services provider can supply these, and they can be made from materials that can be used outdoors.

Metrolina Greenhouses in Huntersville is set to open its doors for visitors on June 7. Guests are welcome between 9:00 am and 12:00 noon.
