What's Happening in Brentwood, MO…

Swap meet moves to the Arch

A popular St. Louis attraction, a swap meet on Cherokee Street, is branching out and will soon set up shop one weekend a month on the grounds of the Arch. According to an article in the Riverfront Times, the Riverfront Marketplace will feature food, crafts, and live music two days each month. The effort is a partnership between Great Rivers Greenway and the St. Louis Swap Meet.

The Cherokee Street swap meet is the brainchild of Martin Casas, who launched it last spring. He believes the market under the Arch could be very successful. He explains that when people think of St. Louis, or even Missouri itself, the first thing they remember is the Arch. Thousands of people visit the riverfront each weekend as well. A swap meet would put a spotlight on the products and services of many small business owners, as well as drawing even more people downtown. The Arch market would feature crafts, antiques, small-batch foods, and vintage clothing.

The Marketplace will start July 16 and 17, from 10 am to 3 pm, and continue on the third weekend of every month, through October. It will be open both days, offering shopping and dining opportunities, even including a biergarten.

It's possible that events such as this can benefit from working with a flyer printing company, which creates material that explains the event and provides useful information such as parking options, vendors, and any fees.
