St. Louis to hold conference for the transit industry

The Westin St. Louis at the Ballpark will host an expo in September for those involved in Missouri’s public transit industry.

The Missouri Public Transit Conference & Expo is a multi-day event where professionals in public transit can network with industry stakeholders, participate in workshops, and attend informative panels. The workshops at the expo will highlight the Metro Transit’s Maintenance and Mentorship Programs. People can attend the FTA and Transit Operator Awards and participate in drug and alcohol training sessions. There will also be opportunities for guests to browse transit exhibitors.

The conference will have several breakout sessions led by organizations like the Transportation Workforce Center, the National Center for Applied Transit Technology, and the Shared Use Mobility Center. Attendees can learn about topics such as disability inclusion on public transportation, creating leaders in the transit industry, and alternative fuels. Guests may also attend presentations on Adopt-A-Stop Maintenance Programs and social service partnerships.

The trade show will be held from Tuesday, September 3 to Thursday, September 5. The cost to register for the transit conference is $450 per person. The price will include the breakfast and lunch sessions on Saturday, September 4. People attending the expo can stay at The Westin St. Louis’ conference block. Those who participate in niche events like this may bring business cards to hand out to potential contacts.
