St. Louis to help students improve storytelling skills

The organization Campfire will be offering a storytelling workshop in October at TechArtista CWE in St. Louis.

The Intro to Storytelling Class is a multi-week program that helps students develop their public speaking skills. The course shows participants how to tap into their authentic voices and will teach them how to harness stories during conversations. Each student receives personalized attention from the instructors and will present a five-minute story to their peers in the workshop. Those in the program can only miss one class during the eight-week experience.

Campfire is a group that wishes to turn students into natural storytellers by offering accessible programming and using experienced instructors. The executive director of the organization is Steven Harowitz, and the operations and engagement lead for Campfire is Mariah Byrne. The group also has a podcast that features stories about life from various speakers. Campfire has an Advanced Storytelling program for students who want to deepen their speaking skills.

The eight-week program will start on Tuesday, October 18th and will finish on Tuesday, December 13th. Each lesson will be from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The cost to take part in Campfire’s introductory workshop is $195. People will only receive refunds for the course more than 30 days prior to the first class. Groups that hold lessons like this may use flyer printing to attract students to their classes.
