St. Louis to celebrate summer with race
Fans of athletic events can attend a summertime race in St. Louis, held at Forest Park.
The Summer Sizzler is a themed activity where people can compete with fellow runners or walk throughout the course. All registrants will earn a finisher medal, though special awards will be available for the runners with the best completion times. The event will also be offering a Beach Party Challenge for those interested in receiving an exclusive pin. To complete the challenge, participants must pick up beach-related items throughout the course and carry them to the finish line.
The Bodies Race Company will be responsible for timing and scoring the event. The organization was formed in 2011 by Brad and Jen McCleary and hosts running activities in 16 states. A few of the company’s yearly activities include the Spring Sprint, Fall Finish, and Candy Cane Course. People can assist the group by volunteering as aid station attendants, course monitors, and packet distributors. Coordinators for community functions like this can market their activities with banner printing.
The event will take place Saturday, July 30 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. The cost to partake in the race is $40, though early registrants will receive a discounted price. Free registration will be given to those who sign up five people for the activity. Packets can be picked up from 6:30 am to 7:30 am.
