St. Louis race to fight against veteran homelessness

The St. Patrick Center will be organizing a fundraiser in November at the Soldier’s Memorial in Downtown St. Louis.

The 6th Annual Veterans Day 5K Run/Walk is an event that raises funds to help the St. Patrick Center assist homeless vets. The course for the 5K is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. Participants will also be allowed to bring their dogs to the activity. There will even be a Kids Dash held during the program and a virtual run for those unable to join the in-person event. The St. Louis Regional Veterans Day Observance Parade will occur after the race.

The St. Patrick Center is an organization that aims to eliminate veteran homelessness by providing vets with beneficial services. The group helps veterans transform their lives by giving them sustainable housing and employment opportunities. Last year, the organization assisted more than 800 veterans. One of the programs offered at the St. Patrick Center is Project HERO, a designated apartment complex reserved for helping vets dealing with homelessness and mental health issues.

The 5K will be on Saturday, November 6 at 9:30 am. Those interested in registering for the activity may pay $40, though early bird rates are available for people who register before November 1. The parade will begin at 11:00 am. Public events such as this can be promoted to local motorists with banner printing.
