St. Louis race to benefit American Red Cross
America's Center Convention Complex in St. Louis will hold a special run in January to support the American Red Cross.
The Blood, Sweat & Gears One-Hour Run is a unique fundraiser where people can participate in an indoor race during the St. Louis Auto Show. Those in the competition will try to complete as many laps in the convention complex as they can within one hour. The course is a mile long and will take runners past vehicle displays and through zig-zag sections. Each participant will have their progress measured with electric timers during the run.
The American Red Cross is an organization that was formed by Clara Barton in 1881. The foundation collects blood from volunteer donors to use for those impacted by cancer, traumatic accidents, and disasters. The group offers training and certification courses for individuals and companies, and it also provides support to people around the world. People can assist the organization with a donation of blood or money. The American Red Cross also accepts volunteers.
The one-hour fundraising run will be held on Saturday, January 20 at 8:00am. The cost to participate in the event is $30 per person. People may also join a virtual version of the program for $30. Organizations in charge of these types of races can use banner printing to make large ads that promote their causes to the community.
