St. Louis goes the distance
Health conscious families in St. Louis have a chance to get their hearts pumping at a three-day event in a few weeks.
The GO! St. Louis Marathon and Family Fitness Weekend will feature a health and fitness expo, along with several races for various ages and abilities.
Distance runners can choose between a marathon, a half marathon, and a marathon relay. The marathon’s course is USATF certified and is also a Boston marathon qualifier. Along the scenic route, participants will have access to water, medical stations, and other amenities.
After the event, participants can enjoy an after party with live entertainment and food. No doubt printing companies have been busy creating signs and banners for the festivities.
For those who want a shorter course, there will also be a 5K run and walk, a fun run for kids, and a ‘mature mile’. The 5K course will take runners through Forest Park.
The Health and Fitness Expo will take place on April 10 and 11 from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. During this time, participants can pick up their packets. The expo will take place at Chaifetz Arena.
The 5K will kick off at 8:00 am on April 11, followed by the kids’ fun run at 10:45 am, and the mature mile at 11:15 am. The marathon, half marathon, and marathon relay will all begin at 7:00 am on April 12 in downtown St. Louis.
