St. Louis garden to hold beer tasting

The Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis will organize a beer tasting activity to benefit the EarthWays Center this fall.

The Fest-of-Ale is an annual event that invites legal drinkers to try beverages from local breweries to help support the botanical garden's conservation group. Admission fees will include a special tasting glass and live entertainment. Music for the fest is provided by Wax Museum, a four-piece cover band from St. Louis that performs genres like soul, country, and pop. The group has played previous shows at venues such as Billy G's in Kirkwood and the U City Farmers Market.

The EarthWays Center is a group interested in helping students and the general public understand how their behavior can impact local plant life and the environment. The organization has many programs and services, including summer youth camps, adult classes, contractor training, and sustainability consultations with businesses. The group also offers the Green Resources Answer Service, which answers questions on energy efficiency and improving indoor air quality.

Fest-of-Ale will be held on Friday, October 14 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Members of the Missouri Botanical Garden may pay $40, and non-members can enter the festival for $50. Designated drivers can pay $15 instead. All guests must reserve their spots in advance. Environmental groups that organize fundraisers similar to this may use brochure printing to educate attendees on their conservation efforts.
