The press has some of the features of the high-tech Rapida 106, but with even more options:
"The most noticeable features adopted from the Rapida 106 are the overhead AirTronic delivery, DriveTronic feeder, the shallower angle between the impression cylinders and transfer drums, the multi-venturi sheet guides, the gripper shafts and the inking and dampening units," states the company.
In addition the press includes a variety of washing, plate change and drying systems, as well as automated changes for coating Forms.
The press is described as the 'most advanced' in its class, and represents KBA's first foray into creating a basic sheetfed platform. Prior to the Germany trials, the Rapida 105 had its world premiere in at the Print China exhibition in Shanghai, where it met with critical acclaim. Indeed, in some cases, printers there have already switched to the Rapida 105 for proofing.
