Orchids to bloom in St. Louis

The Missouri Botanical Garden is opening its doors to a tropical oasis of orchids in St. Louis, with the annual Orchid Show about to begin.

The extensive collection of orchids presents hundreds of varieties in a rotating display format. As guests wander through the lush foliage and wrapping vines all set amidst cascading fountains, the scenery and scent of blooms awaits.

The hideaway for the orchid collection is set within the Orthwein Floral Display Hall. As horticulturists create, design, and grow the orchid displays, many months are devoted to the planning and related tasks for the show.

Promoting specialized events like this can be effectively accomplished through the use of brochures. Brochure printing is handled by local print shops with myriad options and pricing levels available depending on the layout of the piece.

The Missouri Botanical Garden has a long and rich history in cultivating the unique orchid collection. It began in the late 1800s with just a few flowers on display. Today, the collection is one of the largest and most revered in the country. The venue has nearly 6,500 orchid plants with over 680 unique varieties. Approximately 2,100 are species in their own right, and the remainder are hybrid specimens.

The orchid show will start on Monday, February 1 and run through March 15, from 9:00 to 5:00 pm every day.
