New art gallery opening in St. Louis
Jared Minnick has painted off and on his entire life, and is now getting set to open a new art gallery, called 31art.
When he was in his twenties, Minnick created a few paintings, but did not pursue his art, viewing it as a hobby. He did not work with others or attend classes, but then took himself by surprise when he began painting again. In 2012, he created two works; in 2013, another two. After that, his art exploded and in 2014, he created 100 works of art.
During 2014, he painted Friday and Saturday nights without fail, and rediscovered his love of the medium. He also painted in different styles including realism, abstract expressionism, and impressionism, among others. He not only varied his style, but his technique as well, using house paint and spray paint as well as traditional oils. He also used a great many found objects, such as mirrors and doors, to make his art.
For six years, Minnick and his wife hunted for a spot to open their land surveying business. As Minnick’s art grew, they decided they wanted a space that would house both the art and the surveying. They found it at 3520 Hampton Avenue, where they will open 31art.
The grand opening celebrations are set for March 23 and March 30. When a new business like this opens, owners can use graphic design to create a logo and branded materials with a unifying theme.
