The first-ever Mac & Cheese Throwdown STL is coming to St. Louis, and residents have an opportunity to indulge in some quintessential comfort food, sampling up to 60oz of cheesy goodness in total.
Macaroni and cheese, a staple in almost everyone’s diet, has even found its way onto Menus at restaurants throughout the country, where chefs add ingredients such as pork belly, truffles, and lobster to the simple and humble dish.
Now, 19 of St. Louis's restaurants have agreed to a throwdown, with chefs competing directly against each other to see who makes the best variety of the dish. Among the eateries taking part are the Atomic Cowboy, the Beast Craft BBQ Company, the Hi-Pointe Drive-in, and Sugarfire. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Mahf, a St. Louis favorite.
The throwdown is scheduled for this Saturday, March 25 from noon until 3.30 pm, at the MOTO Museum. Tickets are $40, and for this price, attendees can sample as many as 15 samples of 4oz each, as well as enjoying five drinks. At the end of the day, the judges will select one chef to receive the Golden Noodle Award, and attendees can help choose the winner of the People's Choice Award.
